
Start by clicking the “New accession” button on the sidebar to navigate to the new accession form. This can also be achieved via the command menu, or by pressing C,A

Enter all information that is available to describe the donor. Case ID is the primary identifier for the donor, and can be used to view other accessions from the same donor. It is the only required field in this section. Any number of additional identifiers may be added by clicking the Add donor ID button.

The primary client field indicates the client which is ordering the test, and is required to determine the responsible billing party. This may not be editable if your account is associated with a single client. In addition, other clients or email addresses may be configured here to receive final reports when results are released.
To enter email addresses, type the email address in the input box and hit Enter, or click Add "<email address>" when prompted.

This is where tests or panels are ordered for the accession. One or more panels or a la carte tests may be ordered. The type of tests to be ordered can be modified using the “Type” radio buttons.
Note: an accession can only be associated with one “type” of test. For example, Serology and Clinical tests may not be mixed in the same accession.
bLIS will show tests contained within a panel, along with their pricing, in the “Selected tests” section on the right.


Information regarding samples will be entered here, including any shipping information.
The “Time zone” field will automatically be set to whatever time zone your computer is currently configured for. However, this may be changed if required.
The “Packing time” field refers to when the samples were placed into their shipping container, and the “Tracking ID” field refers to any tracking identifier that’s been provided by the courier.
