bLIS is designed to enhance communication and efficiency by sending notifications in various scenarios to keep users informed. These notifications are critical for ensuring timely updates for all stakeholders. Here are some of the key scenarios where bLIS can send notifications:

Type Description
report When a report is completed and generated, bLIS will automatically notify the relevant healthcare providers and other authorized recipients that results are available for review. This is applicable to final, corrected, or preliminary reports.
hold Should a sample be placed on hold, resolved from hold, or the hold is cancelled, bLIS keeps the relevant team members informed of the status change so as to manage the sample processing effectively.
comment Whenever a new comment is added to an accession, bLIS alerts the associated parties to ensure that all communication is acknowledged and addressed promptly.
received Upon receiving a package containing samples in the lab, bLIS can be configured to notify the staff that new samples have arrived and need to be processed.
additional_testing When further testing is required beyond the initial analysis, bLIS will notify the relevant personnel to initiate the additional procedures.
prelim_result For time-sensitive testing or in-progress results, bLIS can send preliminary result notifications to keep providers updated on the status of an analysis before the final report is available.

Lab managers can configure these notifications to meet the specific needs of their laboratory workflow. The admin site provides tools for enabling, disabling, and customizing the recipients and conditions for these notifications. See Notification configuration
