Default workflow

The default testing workflow in bLIS follows these steps:

  1. Create an accession with test orders and samples (state: New)
  2. Receive the shipment in the lab (state: Received)
  3. Create a test run (state: In progress)
  4. Enter and validate all results for each test order (state: Completed)
  5. Generate a final report (state: Final)

Logging workflow

Certain tests may only use bLIS for traceability and logging purposes. In this scenario, you may want to disable test runs, double-entry validation, and reporting. To learn how to do this, check out the following sections in the manual.:

As a result, the workflow becomes:

  1. Create the accession with test order(s) and sample(s) (state: New)
  2. Receive the shipment in the lab (state: Received)
  3. Enter result (such as “Complete”) without requiring double entry (state: Final)
