Signing In

bLIS uses your organization’s single sign-on (SSO) system. To get started:
1

Open bLIS

Navigate to your organization’s bLIS URL in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge recommended).
2

Sign in with your account

Click Sign In and authenticate using your organization’s credentials. bLIS supports SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect — your IT administrator will have configured the appropriate method.
3

Select your organization

If you belong to multiple organizations, select the one you want to work in. You can switch organizations at any time from the top navigation bar.

Your First Steps

Once you’re signed in, what you do next depends on your role:
As a lab technician, your primary tasks include:
  • Receiving specimens — Log incoming specimens and verify their condition
  • Entering results — Input test results as they become available
  • Validating results — Review and confirm result accuracy
Start with Managing Accessions to learn the specimen receiving workflow.

Understanding Roles and Permissions

bLIS uses role-based access to control what you can see and do. Your administrator assigns you a role that determines your level of access:
RoleDescription
Read OnlyView accessions, results, and reports without making changes
Lab AssistantReceive specimens and perform basic data entry
Lab TechnicianEnter and validate test results
Lab ManagerFinalize results, generate reports, manage workflows
Lab AdminFull access including user management and system configuration
If you need access to a feature that your current role doesn’t allow, contact your lab administrator.
