Overview

The command menu is a quick-access tool for performing actions and navigating bLIS without clicking through menus. Press Ctrl+K from anywhere to open it.

Opening the command menu

Press Ctrl+K from any page in bLIS. The command menu appears as a search dialog where you can type to find actions.

What you can do

The command menu provides access to:
  • Navigation — Jump to any page (Accessions, Board, Search, Test runs, Reports, Admin)
  • Accession actions — When viewing an accession, perform actions directly:
    • Mark received
    • Hold
    • Enter results
    • Generate report
    • Upload file
    • Clone accession
    • Stage for instrument
    • Set status
    • Set priority
    • Print labels
    • Print archive labels
    • Edit
    • Cancel accession
    • Delete accession
Start typing the action you need and the command menu filters results as you type.

Keyboard shortcuts

Some commands have dedicated keyboard shortcuts, displayed next to the command name in the menu. For example:
ShortcutAction
RMark received
HHold
EEnter results
PGenerate report
L LPrint labels
L APrint archive labels
These shortcuts work when you are viewing an accession.

When to use the command menu

The command menu is fastest when you already know what action you want to perform. Instead of navigating through menus, press Ctrl+K, type a few characters, and press Enter.
Available commands depend on context. Accession-specific actions only appear when you are viewing an accession. Navigation commands are always available.
