Overview

Cancelling is the preferred way to stop work on an accession. Unlike deleting, cancellation preserves the accession record and requires a reason, providing full traceability.

How to cancel an accession

1

Open the accession

Navigate to the accession you want to cancel.
2

Open the action menu

Press Ctrl+K to open the command menu, or click the overflow menu () in the upper right corner of the accession.
3

Select Cancel accession

Choose Cancel accession from the menu.
4

Enter a reason

Provide a reason for the cancellation. This is required for audit purposes.

What happens when you cancel

When you cancel an accession:
  • The accession status changes to Cancelled
  • All associated test orders are cancelled along with it
  • Billing considerations apply to the cancelled test orders as well
  • The cancellation reason and timestamp are recorded in the audit trail
Cancelling an accession cancels all of its test orders. Review the accession’s test orders before proceeding.

Restoring a cancelled accession

You can restore a cancelled accession to its previous state.
1

Open the cancelled accession

Find the cancelled accession in the accession list (filter by Cancelled status if needed).
2

Click Restore

Click the Restore button displayed on the cancelled accession.
The accession returns to the state it was in before cancellation.

Deleting accessions

Permanently remove an accession (destructive action).
